Meet the Author
Howdy! My name is Chad Valentine and I love sharing stories. I apologize for making you wait so long to put a few in writing, but life is crazy! I’m a native East Texan, but am a fully converted West Texan now, with my wife, two daughters and two fur-daughters—meaning I am, by all accounts, happily surrounded by women. Trying to balance family life, work responsibility, and imagination helps me shape some perspective.
By day, I am a CPA who spends my professional life grinding through beans/numbers (whatever you have heard about accountants is probably mostly true, except Affleck’s movie, that’s our dream) and hopefully helping provide some stability to the global economy. Writing is a different kind of challenge, a chance to build stories and characters that struggle, hurt, and sacrifice in order to overcome and define their ultimate self.
I love a good selfless hero, with issues of course. Someone who makes a choice, or performs an action while others ask “Why would you do that?” The answer is complicated to most, but simple to the hero, “It’s the right thing to do.” It may not always be the best choice for the situation, but overcoming the obstacles and ramifications of making the choice is, to me, what makes the hero.
Hopefully, I’m not of left field, but one of my favorite hero’s (they are all great y’all, but I’ve spent way too many hours with this dude) is James Raynor from Starcraft 1 and 2. Even when he was criminal he tried to do the right thing. And even in a broken world/galaxy, he found love in the most unlikely of places.
The Halonica Chronicles is my first series, with at least three more books to come, and I’ve also started a steampunk fantasy series that came to me in a dream. I have a few other crazy ideas out there, (I think I have an overactive imagination), so stay tuned!
Sincerest Thanks Page
(i.e. couldn’t have done it without)
I couldn’t have done this without the support and pushiness of family, friends and co-workers. To those that suffered through the early editions, to those that helped early edit and adding content, I thank you. Thanks to my loving wife and kids for sharing an interest in my weird ideas and exploring this world with me.
Much thanks to Sienna Arts for the cover art and print editions so I could finally get this thing off the ground (or out of a dark cave). Technology has certainly changed a lot since I began this project, and their ability to create a great product with a quick turn around was exciting and very satisfying for a first timer. Check them out below.
Thank you to the reader. I love to read and experience stories and finally got to share one of my own. I hope you enjoyed it and want more, I am just getting warmed up.
